Gregory Katz is chaired professor and founder of the ESSEC Chair of Therapeutic Innovation at ESSEC Business School (Paris-Singapore). He is also co-director of the ESSEC Institute of Health Economics & Management. His research and publications focus on the socio-economic impact of biomedical innovations, particularly in the fields of genomics, companion diagnostics, and the industrial economics of stem cell banks. In 2004 he co-founded Eurocord, an international platform specialized in clinical research on cord blood stem cell transplantation. He was the 2008 winner of the San Benedetto International Prize for his achievements in the fields of bioethics and humanism. Since 2008, Gregory Katz has been executive director of the Générale de Santé Foundation, a non-profit initiative supporting cord blood banking and clinical research on cell therapies through public-private partnerships. Since 2012, he has also been Chairman of the board of the GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines’ global innovation fund (IBe+).
